Midrand Cricket Club hosts cricket clinic

MIDRAND – Midrand Cricket Club held a cricket clinic for David Makhubo Secondary School.

The Midrand Cricket Club hosted a cricket clinic for children of David Makhubo Secondary School in Kaalfontein.

The day was filled with a lot of activities as coach William Mokgetloane took the eager cricketers through the disciplines of fielding, bowling and batting. They were also taught about the importance of teamwork and fitness.

The club’s chairman Nevish Rampersadh said, “The pupils quickly learnt that like every other sport, discipline and practise are key if you want to succeed. For most of the pupils, this was their first cricketing experience.

“The development of the sport in our communities is something none of us can shy away from. As a club, we have undertaken to play our part in ensuring the sport is accessible to all within our reach.”

The day ended with a friendly game.
