Noordwyk Primary School receives sports equipment

MIDRAND – The donated sporting equipment were proceeds of a 2017 race.

Midrand Striders Running Club together with their sponsors Sanofi donated sporting equipment to Noordwyk Primary School.

The sporting equipment was purchased using the proceeds of a race held last year. Head of communications at Sanofi, Prudence Selani, said, “As Noordwyk Primary School have no sporting equipment, together with the Midrand Striders Running Club we agreed that they were a good fit to receive the sporting equipment. We believe that by introducing the learners to the health and social benefits of sport, it will help them develop their teamwork skills and self-esteem in this important phase of their development.”

The principal of the school Lynelle Ellof said they were grateful to the donors for the athletics kit. “I want to thank both organisations for investing in the children’s future in terms of sport. This will go a long way,” she said.

The chairperson of the club, Michelle Acton said, “Midrand Striders as a running club want to encourage fitness and health within the community and therefore donated some much-needed sporting equipment to the school.”
