Apply for security opportunity in Midrand

MIDRAND – Ria Sebetsa Security officially launched its Ria Sebetsa Training Academy in Midrand.

Ria Sebetsa Security officially launched its Ria Sebetsa Training Academy on 26 February in Midrand.

The security company is looking to give back to the community by training 20 young people for free, in the safety and security industry at the academy, which will lead to future employment.

The training will start in March once the 20 candidates have been selected.

The application process is still open to interested community members.

“Last year our corporate social responsibility project focused on primary school education, where we said a child should never worry about school fees but rather enjoy being a child,” said the founder of Ria Sebetsa, Danny Maduray.

Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe said she is pleased to see someone in the community taking an initiative to change the state of youth unemployment.

The Ria Sebetsa team members are excited about the new training academy.

Members of the Midrand Community Policing Forum and Midrand Police Station Commander, David Tsotsotso attended the launch of the academy along with other prominent community leaders in the region, including Vorna Valley Residence Association leaders.

Maduray gave a moving speech about how he started this company from nothing but today he has been able to give an opportunity to other young people with dreams and hopes of employment.

“The company has been operating for 10 years but in the first three years it was operating under a different name until 2011,” said Maduray.

He said the state of youth unemployment is a matter of concern. “I can only hope that the opportunity I am giving to the 20 young people will impact their lives positively.

“We are a Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (Sasseta) accredited training academy; we offer training from grade E to A.”
