MIDRAND – Community Policing Forum held a meeting with the community at the Rabie Ridge Police Station.

The Community Policing Forum (CPF) held a meeting with the community at the Rabie Ridge Police Station on 7 February.

This meeting was the first of its kind, for the year. All sector managers were also in attendance, along with the Metro police.

The station commander, Colonel Johanna Ngoma encouraged the police and the community to work together to push the implementation and success of community programmes aimed at preventing crime.

The CPF chairperson, Monica van Rooyen promised to compile year plans on how to conduct community crime awareness with the police and various stakeholders.

“Communication through word of mouth and social media platforms is expected to promote those social crime prevention projects in all sectors and promote police-community relations through those programmes with all stakeholders in the policing precinct,” said Rabie Ridge police spokesperson, Captain Matsobane Masela.

“The meeting was fruitful with thorough discussions and commitments.”
