Ivory Park police celebrate hefty sentencing for hijackers

IVORY PARK – Justice is served as three criminals face the might of the law.

Ivory Park Police Station commander Brigadier David Ngcobo has described the hefty sentencing of three hijackers as appropriate.

The accused, who all reside in Tembisa, were arrested in August 2015 and were recently sentenced by Tembisa Magistrates’ Court for hijacking, attempted murder, business robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and kidnapping.

Jabu Sithole (36), and Sibusiso Ndlovu (33) were each sentenced to 50 years’ imprisonment while the third accused, Muzi Hlatshwayo (31) was sentenced to 25 years behind bars. All three men commenced their sentences this month.

“Hopefully the community of Ivory Park, Tembisa and the adjacent areas will breathe a sigh of relief. Credit must be given to the members whose quick response led to the speedy arrest and to the detective officer whose tireless efforts resulted in the conviction.”
