#ICYMI: One killed in retirement home fire
MIDSTREAM – Local authorities were on scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
One person was killed after a fire broke out in a retirement home in Midstream on Friday evening.
Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson, said, “When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene at 7.03pm, another medical service was already in attendance. A number of people were evacuated from the building and were standing outside.
“Upon further assessment, it was found that one person was killed.
“The exact details surrounding the incident are not yet known to our paramedics but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”
