Care Bible Church Women’s Day celebration in Midrand

MIDRAND – Women's day celebrations at Care Bible Church focused on spiritual, financial and mental wellness of women.

Every year on 9 August women are celebrated throughout South Africa and Care Bible Church in Klipfontein View, Midrand, always joins the celebrations by hosting an event.

Three speakers at the event focused on motivating and encouraging women on issues of spirituality, finance and mental wellness.

Mankodi Moitse, chief executive officer of Kagiso Trust, is married to Apostle PK Moitse and also serves as a senior pastor at Care Bible Church. “Women are central to the positive change in our communities and the church. We understand what it means to be the bride and drive positive transformation in our churches and communities to the glory of God through Christ,” said Moitse.

Tshiwela Mhlantla, Absa’s provincial managing executive for the southern and Eastern Cape regions, encouraged women to take charge of their finances sooner rather than later.

Tshiwela provided the following advice on how to control one’s financial future:

  • Scrutinise your bank statements to make sure that there are no discrepancies
  • Have a conversation with your significant other as it is easier to reach financial goals if a couple works together
  • Be disciplined and differentiate between needs and wants
  • Be consistent.

Sophia Semakuezi works for Healthcare Christian Fellowship as a training promoter for the Southern Africa region. Sophia highlighted that most people deal with stress the wrong way as they are in denial which may exacerbate the problem.

According to Semakuezi, different ways of dealing with stress include:

  • Admit that you are not coping
  • Take responsibility for your life
  • Have realistic expectations of yourself and others
  • Learn how to de-stress your body through muscle relaxation.
