The day kicked off with an opening prayer and was followed by a talk from Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe who said she was pleased to see people of different races come together for a good cause and celebration as it is a true representation of what the late Nelson Mandela wanted.

Deppe donated cupcakes to the event and ensured that the children had a wonderful day.

Some of the people who delivered speeches were Mrs Globe South Africa, Sandi Maqoqa, who spoke about the importance of having a dream and working towards it as well as Chris Maseko from Afrika Tikkum who encouraged parents to listen to their children and give them attention as children need love and support more than money and toys.

The little ones ended the day with a mascot performance by Duba Duba. The children were very excited and spent the whole day dancing and laughing.
