Giving rugby a try at Jabulani Technical High School

MIDRAND – Tshuma Stingers took the Mazda Midrand Family Meet and Play to Soweto Ivory Park youth.

Midrand rugby club Tshuma Stingers hosted the Mazda Midrand Family Meet and Play on 16 June as part of Youth Day celebrations at Jabulani Technical High School in Soweto.

The club uprooted its event from its traditional venue and took it right into the heart of the township community, hosting young stars of Kyalami Independent, Dr Mathole, Kaalfontein and Drake Koka primary schools based in Ivory Park and Tembisa. The youngsters were taught rugby skills by Stingers players.

“Gratitude goes to Fury Mazda Midrand for their continued partnership and sponsorship of food, drinks and first aid service, the Gauteng Department of Sports Arts, Culture and Recreation for providing equipment, and Spar for contributing bread rolls. Their support continues to make youth rugby development possible,” said Ndumiso Tshuma the CEO of Tshuma Stingers.
