Food is served at the free luncheon at Purple Lounge.
Strini and Malini Moodley have done it again! They’ve hosted the elderly from Halfway House Senior Citizens Club for a free luncheon at their Purple Lounge restaurant on 9 March.
The couple began giving back to the community and hosting free lunches for the elderly in February 2015. Since then, Moodley said business has boomed and they have received overwhelming support from the senior citizens’ children and family.

“It gives me joy to see them enjoying the day; I provide music and food for them, which is my way of saying thank you,” said Moodley. The 45 senior citizens were treated to chilli bites for starters, chicken and vegetable biryani with dhall and salad for mains and sorjee for dessert.
Chairman of the Halfway House Senior Citizens Club, Jerry Mohanlall said he recommends the restaurant to everyone as it provides warm hospitality, high-quality food, great service and a homely environment.
