The Midrand SPCA is delighted after they received R45 450 from Absa bank on 2 March as part of the bank’s citizenship initiative.
Dawie de Wet, the head of credit policy at the bank, said the Midrand SPCA was one of the beneficiaries of the initiative.
The bank hosted its annual liquor auction in December last year whereby donated liquor was auctioned off at a high price and the proceeds were given to a selected beneficiary – the Midrand SPCA.

Brenda Lucas from the SPCA said, “We are overjoyed with the donation. Some of the proceeds will also be used to help sterilise animals in the local impoverished communities in the months to come.
“The funds will go a long way in serving the animals of Midrand,” concluded Lucas.
