Cops pay tribute to dead colleague

MIDRAND – Midrand Police Station's Sergeant, Mofedi Matsimela died on 26 January after a short illness.

 

Police officers and family paid tribute to the late Sergeant Mofedi Matsimela at a service held on 2 February at the Midrand Police Station where he worked.

Matsimela passed away on 26 January after an illness and had been in and out of hospital.

The station’s new commander, Colonel Mkhacani Maluleke, delivered the keynote address and Sergeant Phatudi Lentsoane offered words of comfort to his family.

Joburg North deputy cluster commander, Brigadier Paulus Lukhwareni, said the departure of a loved one was a part of life, even though it was not easy for those who were left behind to accept it.

Matsimela’s friends and colleagues said he would be sorely missed.
