Police nab wanted criminals

MIDRAND – Arm of the law catches up with some of Ivory's Park's most wanted.

Following the arrest of two men who were on Ivory Park’s most wanted list last month, Ivory Park police were delighted to report that four more suspects wanted for crimes committed as far back as 2007, are behind bars.

Police spokesperson, Captain Bernard Matimulane said some of the suspects, whose ages range from 29 to 45 years, were traced in jails across the country where they have been arrested for other serious crimes. They all had skipped bail and are currently in jail for other crimes.

Matimulane said, “In just two weeks Ivory Park detectives tracked the four suspects wanted in Ivory Park… Three of the suspects are being sought for possession of unlicensed firearms while the fourth is to face possession of stolen property charges,” he said.

In welcoming these arrests, Brigadier David Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park Police Station, said, “We remain resolute in ensuring that whoever commits a crime in our area, should be made to serve time in jail. The fact that someone has been at large does not mean police have forgotten about them.”
