Tech companies launch Moto Z in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG – Lenovo has partnered with industry leaders to develop top-of-the-line Moto Mods for its new Moto Z smartphone.

Lenovo has partnered with industry leaders to develop top-of-the-line Moto Mods for its new Moto Z smartphone, introducing South Africa to the next era of mobile technology.

The Moto Z with Moto Mods will enable users to choose the capabilities of their smartphone so that they can instantly transform their mobiles into whatever they need, whenever they need it.

Graham Braum, general manager for Mobile Business Group, Lenovo Africa said the Moto Mods family includes the JBL SoundBoost speakers, the Insta-Share projector, power packs from Incipio, so consumers are never out of battery, and the Hasselblad True Zoom.

Made from military aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel, Moto Z is durable and just 5.2 mm thin. The smartphone is equipped with a powerful Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 820 processor, 4Gb of RAM and 32Gb or 64Gb of storage inside and has a high-resolution camera with optical image stabilisation, laser autofocus, and a front-facing camera.

Moto Z also includes an extra flash in the front camera to ensure users look their best, even in low light. Moto has teamed up with Hasselblad, who has been at the forefront of the imaging industry, to design an imaging experience that completely transforms mobile photography.

The smartphone comes with a water-repellent coating and a fingerprint reader. Moto Z supports up to 30 hours of battery, and when in need, the TurboPower™ Mod provides up to eight hours of power in just 15 minutes.

Braum commented, “We are excited to be launching the flagship Moto Z smartphone in South Africa, as we believe that there is a definite gap in our cellular phone market for smartphones that are truly innovative, and don’t merely make small improvements to existing models.”

The Moto Z will be available at select retailers such as Takealot.com from 1 November 2016, Cellucity from 1 November 2016, Dion Wired from 13 November 2016.
