Romeo and Juliet is now on at Joburg Theatre

Romeo and Juliet, the ballet performed by Joburg Ballet, kicked off the season on 15 July performing to the masses at Joburg Theatre.

The 10-performance season of Romeo and Juliet was opened up by dancers, Shannon Glover and Jonathon Rodrigues playing the roles of Juliet and Romeo respectively, to friends and members of the ballet company, as well as the theatre and ballet-loving public of Johannesburg.

Guests dressed in their Friday best to see the first show, which promised to be something new for both audiences and the ballet company.

During the Romeo and Juliet season, which ends on 24 July, the ballet company will perform in collaboration with another renowned dance company, Vuyani Dance Theatre.

For the opening show, visitors were treated to food, drinks and a chance to mingle with the performers of the large-scale stage production during both intervals.

Joburg Theatre was lit with excitement for the winter ballet and it is a show that should definitely not be missed.

With only a few performances left, featuring a number of talented dancers including Prima Ballerina, Burnise Silvius, you had better not miss out on Romeo and Juliet.
