Caxton and Hirsch’s give to Botshabelo

JOHANNESBURG – Caxton gives to children at Botshabelo on Mandela Day.

Caxton Joburg North staff responded to the international call to do something for 67 minutes in honour of Madiba by visiting Botshabelo, a charity organisation in Midrand.

Botshabelo has been established for 16 years and is non-profit organisation which uplifts more than 600 beneficiaries each year through their babies home, preschool and teacher training programmes.

Caxton donated a fridge, clothing and baby products to the charity.

Event organisers, Dudu Debuza and Lerato Tlali said they were excited to see that their hard work had paid off.

Debuza said, “We decided to do something for 67 minutes and involved the whole Caxton Joburg North branch and we asked what Botshabelo’s needs were. One of their top needs was a fridge which we got in partnership with Hirsch’s Fourways.”

Tlali said, “We managed to get our branch involved in either giving R67 to buy things such as baby wipes, clothing and baby formula. Other staff members donated 67 minutes of their time. Thank you to everyone who took part in the initiative.”

Botshabelo’s funding co-ordinator, Michelle Hinrichsen said they were thankful for the donations. She added, “Mandela Day is an incredible day for us, it’s one day where the whole nation gathers together to join in a great cause. Thank you to Caxton and Hirsch’s for the donations, they will go a long way in helping us.”
