More teachers join a good cause

MIDRAND – Staff to take part in CEO SleepOut campaign.

Beaulieu Preparatory School is raising awareness about its participation in the CEO SleepOut campaign on 28 July, which will take place at the school.

At a recent assembly, the school’s headmistress, Noele Hillen, revealed to the pupils who the brave teachers are who will join her in the upcoming CEO SleepOut.

Founding staff members of the school comprising Hillen; deputy principal, Bobby Bain; deputy head, Tessa Hughes; Meaghan Voget and Debbie Waldron, decided to take part in this year’s CEO SleepOut and felt it was their purpose to pay it forward and to extend their reach to the local community.

Bain said, “The school has chosen Africa Food for Thought as its beneficiary, a non-profit organisation which aims to provide nutrition to schoolchildren in order to promote concentration and learning.”

Bain added that the school is planning on raising funds to purchase two containers to fill with food items, which they want to then donate to Africa Food for Thought.

“The pledges from the pupils and their parents thus far have been extraordinary. The CEO SleepOut also provided the school with an opportunity to come together to make a greater impact,” said Bain.

The school’s outreach committee, The Isinkwe Team, will ensure that those sleeping out will be nourished as they will be provided with soup and bread and the Parent Teacher Forum will wake the team up with a deserving breakfast. Companies wishing to contribute to Beaulieu Preparatory School’s CEO SleepOut are welcome to contact the school.
