Motorcyclist killed in collision on K101 in Midrand

MIDRAND – A motorcyclist has been killed after colliding with a car on the Old Johannesburg Road in Midrand at 7am on 23 June.

Emer-G-Med reported that the motorbike hit a car after swerving to avoid hitting a pedestrian who was allegedly crossing the road illegally.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the motorcyclist had suffered severe polytrauma and showed no signs of life. He was declared dead on the scene.

The pedestrian was clipped by the motorbike and three occupants of the car sustained minor to moderate injuries. Those four patients were treated on scene before being transported to nearby hospitals.

JMPD’s Specialist Accident Investigation Unit was on the scene to investigate.
