Black tie event to aid school children

MIDRAND – Events company takes up another challenge to provide school shoes and school bags for children in need.

Henry Rose Event Company, formed in 2010 by two youngsters, Tebogo Bulane and Prudence Sihlangu, seeks to connect, uplift and encourage disadvantaged pupils and youth from Tembisa and Midrand.

The company’s project manager, Tebogo Bulane said the company held its first Annual Black Tie Charity Gala Dinner in September 2014 and managed to raise more than 50 pairs of school shoes for Bolamahlo Orphanage in Tembisa.

Bulane added, “We will host our second Annual Black Tie Charity Gala Dinner, in partnership with Boston Campus in Kempton Park, and managed to get a bursary worth R15 000 for a pupil from Ivory Park. We have also ‘adopted’ three different pupils from different primary schools to assist them with school fees, school uniforms and school shoes.”

This year’s dinner will be held on 23 September at a venue yet to be confirmed.

“We are looking for various sponsorships. Our vision and mission this year is to raise more than five bursaries, more than 50 pairs of school shoes and more than 50 school bags for pupils in need.”

Bulane added that organisations which sponsor the event and aid in financial assistance will be mentioned in all that takes place in the company’s marketing structure including advertisements and social media networks.
