Man shot during housebreaking in Ivory Park Ext 7

MIDRAND - Ivory Park police are looking for four men who allegedly shot and wounded a man after they broke into his home in Ivory Park Ext 7.

 

Ivory Park police spokesperson Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela said, “It is alleged that in the early hours of 4 March, while the victim and his wife were sleeping, four suspects wearing balaclavas and work suits forced their way into their home. It is alleged that the victim… woke up and rushed to a safe to get his firearm which is licensed.”

Before the man could reach his safe, the perpetrators were already in the house. “The suspects allegedly fired four shots at the victim without saying anything,” added Sekgobela.

“The victim sustained injuries [to his upper body]. The suspects took a plasma TV, R700 cash, a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone and the victim’s firearm before fleeing the scene.”

The victim was taken to hospital where police said he was in a stable condition.
