Young swimmers make waves in swimming gala

Their competitors were Japari School and Summit College.

Summerhill teacher Teressa Oates said Summit came second and Japari third.

“In keeping with recent history, another record was broken by Racquel Marais [of Summerhill] in the individual medley for juniors, winning at 00:01:16, the previous record was 00:01:22,” said Oates.

“This was the fifth record to be smashed by Summerhill swimmers in two weeks and it has created great excitement and expectation for the rest of the swimming season. The school will closely watch this young swimmer and other recent record breakers with great expectation in the upcoming galas.”
