WARNING: Woman scams people using Kitty and Puppy Haven

MIDRAND - A woman has been hitting some Johannesburg suburbs as part of a scam.

This according to Kitty and Puppy Haven who first heard of the scam in January. The home has not opened a case with the police as they do not have her identity, as yet, said Bianca Olivier, administrator at the home.

“People on Facebook have come forward to ask if she is really collecting on behalf of us. This is where it started and from there we have received numerous sightings,” said Olivier.

The young, blonde woman is said to have been seen in areas such as Benoni and Melville. She is also said to travel with an African grey parrot and she prefers to frequent bars as her main target.

Olivier advised the public to let the home know of her whereabouts or any other sightings. “We are hoping the public might get her car’s licence plate or driver’s licence [in order to identify her].

“She also seems to have forged a letterhead of some sort as people have stated that they saw the logo on the pages she is walking around with and, unfortunately, fell for the scam as a result,” she said.

Olivier said more than a 100 people have contacted them via social media, claiming to have seen the woman or having fallen victim to the scam.
