Midrand police spokesperson, Constable Matome Tlamela said the arrest took place on 21 January and the stock was allegedly fraudulently purchased from a warehouse which belongs to a company whose name is known to Midrand Reporter.
Tlamela explained, “Captain Jacobs Christiaan Nell from Johannesburg Flying Squad and his team received a tip-off about suspicious activity at a house on Kruger Road. Upon arrival, the team found a man driving a truck loaded with boxes full of pasta.”
Two employees of the company, who laid a complaint, were with the police and managed to identify the stock as belonging to their company. Tlamela mentioned that the recovered stock was given back to the lawful owner and the truck was recovered by police.
