The woman, who has appeared at Midrand Magistrates’ Court for theft and fraud, allegedly stole clothing and other items from her employers. The employer, who asked not to be named said, “Most of the stolen stuff was on her and we were totally shocked by the amount of things that she was able to take. It is clear that she has been taking many things each week. More shocking was that she had two [identity documents], a South African ID, a Zimbabwean passport, and a South African driver’s licence.”
Midrand Reporter has seen copies of the identity documents which have different names but the same photo.
The woman was arrested by Midrand police and appeared in court on 7 February. Midrand police spokesperson Constable Matome Tlamela said, “The suspect did not get bail as her identity documents are part of an investigation. The case has been remanded to 11 February.”
