Ride for team Village Safe Haven in the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge

BUCCLEUCH – Village Safe Haven wants to be included in the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge Ride for a Purpose campaign and is asking the public for their assistance.

The haven is a cluster foster care facility in Buccleuch for orphaned, vulnerable and abused children who are looked after by Mike and Susan Harris.

Registrations for the challenge have opened and there is a limit of five charity start groups available for this year, which are all limited to a total of 4 500 cyclists. Entries can be completed online.

“We need 20 entered and paid cyclists before we can register,” said Amanda de Wet from Village Safe Haven.

“We need people to register and pay for their registration as soon as possible before the five charity groups fill up in order for our charity to meet the charity bond requirements to be included in the Ride for a Purpose campaign.”

Riders are encouraged to raise money or donate groceries before the race day. “Representing a charity means representing a cause for which you’re prepared to make a sacrifice, to say ‘I care’ and ‘I want to make a difference’,” said De Wet.

“We need your commitment. Please make a difference in the lives of those who are less privileged.”
