Rods ready for Winter Bass Skins
Fishermen are urged to get their rods ready for the annual Winter Bass Skins Fishing Competition, where plenty of prizes can be won!
The Winter Bass Skins is being hosted by the Witbank Art Lure Angling Club, in conjunction with Outdoor Gas & Equipment and Witbank Rod & Reel, and will be taking place on 9 July at the Maanlig Resort, Witbank Dam.
Here’s what you need to know:
An entry fee of R150 per angler is payable on the day, in addition to normal admission fees at the Maanlig Resort.
First skin: 08:00–09:30
Second skin: 09:30–11:00
Third skin: 11:00–12:30
Fourth skin: 12:30–14:00
Fifth skin: 14:00–15:30
Kick boat anglers are welcome to enter.
Registration will open from 06:30 at Maanlig Resort. Captain’s meeting and live well inspection at 07:45.
Starting time is at 08:00 and prize giving is at 15:45.

Prizes for the three biggest fish
Prize for biggest overall fish (ladies, men and juniors)
The first prize per skin includes a R500 Outdoorsman voucher and a cash prize.
The second prize per skin includes a R200 Outdoorsman voucher and cash prize.
The third prize per skin includes a R100 Outdoorsman voucher and a cash prize.
Separate prizes are up for grabs for kick boat anglers.
Automatic entry is included for the lucky draw to win a rod and reel combo.
