Moeketsi Mpotu

Moeketsi Mpotu is the president of the Middelburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is the technical director of Brimis Engineering and Lismar Industrial Safety, and also the managing partner of Ukhamba Industrial Events Park.

He is passionate about nurturing SMEs within the engineering sector, the Mpumalanga Stainless Initiative MSI seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the stainless steel industry, facilitate knowledge exchange, and technology support services to entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Moeketsi has served as a chairperson of the SAAMA technical sub-committee on Risk-Based Inspection.

He has a BSc (Mech Eng) and an executive development programme certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand, and various professional certificates in risk-based inspections from
Steinbeis Transfer Institute (Germany).

Moeketsi is a key supporter and champion of women’s empowerment in our town and region, and within the engineering and heavy machinery industries. He thoroughly believes in Barack Obama’s famous quote, “Empowering women isn’t just the right thing to do – it’s the smart thing to do.” He believes that there can never be true empowerment if women are not fully empowered.

Sharlotte Tsotetsi-Mpotu

Mrs Tsotetsi-Mpotu currently serves as the treasurer for the South African Women Lawyers Association, she is also the chairperson of the subcommittee for GBV, and a member of
the National GBV committee.

Mrs Tsotetsi-Mpotu is a passionate leader and has always been at the forefront of women’s issues. Through her law firm, she offers free consultations to women in August
each year.

This initiative has supported women from all walks of life and has a significant positive impact in their lives.

Sharlotte Tsotetsi-Mpotu is the founder and director of S Tsotetsi Attorneys, a law firm based in Middelburg, Mpumalanga.
Mrs Tsotetsi-Mpotu holds a BA (Politics), Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of the Witwatersrand. She also holds an advanced certificate in Insolvency Law from the University of Pretoria.

Anna-Marth Ott

Anna-Marth Ott is a key player in our town as CEO behind our strong and significant Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

She started as CEO in 1998 and is still going strong, not giving up on our town and region, she still has ample ideas and plans for keeping our town sustainable and productive for the future.

Outlasting most CEOs in a tough environment, the challenges are what keeps her going. Her commitment is exceptional, dealing with struggles and pressures daily to keep the business community strong and attractive for investors and keeping our current businesses doors open. She makes sure we keep Middelburg operating and viable where cities and towns struggle, and she keeps our local authorities and municipality accountable.

Anna-Marth is a mentor, creator and brilliant CEO managing the Chamber, also the mind and CEO of the Tourism Office, MEDO and Buss Mid, all playing a vital role in keeping our town and region sustainable. Middelburg salutes you and thanks you for your selfless efforts, our town wouldn’t be where it is today if it wasn’t for you managing our Chamber extremely well, being the link in crucial areas and keeping everyone working together is a tremendous job.

Susca Watts

Susca Le Roux, widely known in the business world as Susca Watts, is a remarkable entrepreneur. Bongi Irene Mahlangu

Bongi Irene Mahlangu was born in Mhluzi in 1983. A well-known community activist, she began her activism early in life as a groundbreaker at LoveLife. She later worked in the Local Economic Development at Steve Tshwete Local Municipality, responsible for various economic empowerment programmes aimed at uplifting the youth of Middelburg.

She studied public management at Wits Business School and is currently pursuing a post graduate degree in project management with Regenesys Business School. She entered the business world in the construction sector in 2009 running a successful construction company.

She is currently a project manager at the Mpumalanga Action Movement, an NPO responsible for social facilitation of Liberty Coal’s and Veralogix Mining’s corporate social programmes, Bongi is also an executive member of the Middelburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Bongi is a self-driven and ambitious woman in the mining space and is responsible for driving a number of community initiatives geared at bringing change to the community of Middelburg.
