A 25-year-old woman and a 35-year-old woman were found dead inside the vehicle shortly before 09:00 on Sunday.

The vehicle was found 5km from the Alzu Petroport on the N4, with one body in the front passenger seat and the other in the back of the BMW.

Both were killed by multiple gunshots, including to the head.

The vehicle was not running but had its hazard lights on when it was discovered.

The driver was not on the scene, according to earlier police reports.

The car also didn’t have number plates, with two GP number plates found among some luggage in the car during a search.

According to Mdhluli, the women have not been formally identified by their families.

Local bikers passing the tragic scene told the Middelburg Observer that bullet holes were clearly visible in the BMW’s back window.

Mdhluli declined to reveal any more information about the driver of the vehicle and where he was found.
