The incident happened at about 13:00 near the Rockdale cemetery.
Further details about the incident are not yet clear, however, the child died on impact.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene and the child was certified dead upon arrival.
The body of the victim was transported by forensic pathologists for post mortem results.
