Tondeldoos road graded after pressure from M’langa DA

Tondeldoos can expect more visitors soon

The DA in Mpumalanga is pleased that the provincial government has heeded the DA’s request for road upgrades by improving the Tondeldoos road in Emakhazeni.

When the DA conducted an oversight visit in 2022, the party discovered that the road was severely eroded and littered with stones.

According to DA legislature member Teboho Sekaledi, it was of utmost importance for the government to intervene, as the dilapidated road was becoming a threat to motorists and other road users.

This major road-artery links Dullstroom to Tonteldoos.

The area is one of the most scenic in Mpumalanga, and a major tourism drawcard.

“Noting the fact that this road is utilised by the community to get to schools, clinics and places of work, we fought the provincial government tirelessly to improve its condition,” Sekaledi said.

He added, “We are satisfied that community members and tourists can now travel on this road with ease after it was graded.”

Sekaledi vows that the DA will continue to carry out oversight inspections to ensure that the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport maintains the road consistently and ensures its safety and driveability.

“We will not rest. We will continue to hold the ANC government accountable. Service delivery is non-negotiable.”
