DA picket against Eskom price hike

The DA were seen on the corner of Cowen Ntuli and Lilian Ngoyi Street.

Today, local DA councillors and members took to the streets to showcase the party’s dispassion for Eskom’s proposed 40% tariff price hike.

Taking place in the Middelburg CBD, on the corner of Cowen Ntuli and Lilian Ngoyi Street, the DA wanted as many residents as possible to take note of the organised picket.

The DA were in full force today.

Brandishing signs that read, ‘No one can afford a 40% hike!’, ‘Stop electricity extortion!’, and ‘Stop this power grab!’, the DA most certainly made their feelings clear, believing that many South Africans would not survive such a drastic rise.

This picket served as part of the DA’s National Day of Action.

The DA takes a stand against the price hikes.

The potential increase could come into effect as early as April 2025.
