Farmer and security guard arrested for alleged murders

While police search for the remains of two supposed murder victims, a farmer and his security guard are in custody for their alleged involvement.

The farmer and security guard have been arrested for the alleged murders on a farm in Laersdrift.

According to information provided by the provincial spokesperson of the SAPS, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the two men were accused of stealing sheep from the farmer and then fatally assaulted.

The matter is still under investigation as the remains of the two victims have not yet been found.

“The forensic team will search the farm to collect evidence today regarding information that the two victims were allegedly burnt beyond recognition. The ashes will be collected as evidence, which will undergo forensic testing. Meanwhile, the two suspects remain in police custody,” Mdhluli stated.

• They suspects are due to appear in court later today or tomorrow.
