Video: Two trucks collide on Vandyksdrif Bridge, one overturned
One of the trucks overturned as a result of the accident.
Two trucks were involved in a head-on collision just outside Middelburg at the 4-way stop on the R575, otherwise known as the Vandyksdrif Bridge.
There were no serious injuries, with both drivers receiving medical treatment at the scene.
However, according to a witness at the scene, the fire brigade assisted in removing one of the drivers who was trapped within the heavy motor vehicle,
One lane has been closed, with officials at the location controlling the flow of traffic.
A driver who witnessed the crash as it happened, phoned the Observer to alert them of the accident.
They said they were traumatised by the incident, expressing shock at how fast it occurred.
Caution is advised to those travelling in the area.
