Copious amounts of garbage left near Verdoorn Street

The rubbish has not been picked up for a number of days.

Residents in Extension 18 are fuming as trash has been left scattered across the fields near Verdoorn Street.

Complaints began on Thursday after a memorial service was held in the area, and heaps of garbage left in its wake.

Many vagrants can be seen foraging through the rubbish.

Many angered locals contacted the Middelburg Observer to express their justified frustrations.

The field is still littered with trash.

A journalist visited the location earlier this morning to find the trash untouched, with the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality yet to respond to the scene.

A picture of the mess found on both sides of the road.

The area has become a de facto vagrants’ paradise, with many seen scouring through the rubbish.
