Murder case postponed for bail applications

The four men accused of killing a police detective in April will formally apply for their bail.

The matter, involving Paulio Ticha Quembo (33), Nelson Mudavahu (33), Lawrence Simango (34), and Denis Spencer Chipenza (35), was postponed once again in the Middelburg Regional Court.

Their formal bail application are now scheduled for today, June 8.

The accused are facing charges of robbery, attempted murder, and murder.

It is alleged that they shot and killed Detective Sergeant Simon Mbonani and inflicted serious injuries on Sergeant Sthembiso Magubane.

The incident occurred when the two officers were responding to a diesel theft tip-off on a mine located on the N4 highway.
