Field workers conduct census in Kanonkop and Dennesig

Field workers collecting data on behalf of Statistics SA will be visiting door-to-door in Kanonkop and Dennesig.

The field workers have been passing through the two suburbs for some time but are struggling to collect data due to lack of cooperation from residents.
The field workers are appealing to the public to assist in completing the census.

Residents do not need to let them into their homes and can pass information through the gate should they be weary.

The census asks the following information:

• Date of birth
• Names and surnames
• Contact details
• Number of occupants sharing a household
• Current job status of members of household (job or no job)
• Disability in the household

50 field workers are currently covering the area, all of whom are well identified through a visible ID card and green reflective vests. The field workers also comply to all Covid-19 regulations.

The census was due to end on Monday but might possibly be extended due to lack of cooperation from the public.
