Zip around town in the nifty Qute

This past weekend saw the launch of the Bajaj range at Selected4U in Middelburg.

Bajaj (pronounced buh-jaaj) originates from India, and the brand has several motorcycles, a three-wheeled motorcycle (also known as a tuk-tuk) and the Qute, a nifty little mini-car in its stable.

The Qute is the most affordable mini-car currently on the local market and will cost you R75 000, coincidently, the top speed of the vehicle is 75km/h.

Francois van Eeden, sales manager at Selected4U, says the car is primarily for use in town and will come in handy for deliveries or short trips, like travelling to school or to the mall for shopping.

The Qute has a 2017cc engine under the bonnet and a seven-metre turning circle, making parking headaches a thing of the past.

Also in the Bajaj stable is the tuk-tuk, a three-wheeled motorcycle with enough space for three people and a load capacity of 330kg. The tuk-tuk is focused on commercial travel and will be perfect for tasks like deliveries.

“Motorcycle deliveries are sometimes tricky because there is a limit on how much goods you can transport. The tuk-tuk has a back seat where you can load much more goods, like food parcels and takeaway meals,” Mr Van Eeden explains.

The tuk-tuk sells for R58 500.
