BREAKING NEWS: Civilians shot in cash-in-transit heist

Civilians have been critically wounded following an armed attack on a G4S transit vehicle at the Engen Garage near the Midwater Mall.

According to an eye witness at the scene, a pregnant woman was wounded and a client refueling his vehicle was shot in the head during the shootout.

Emergency response personnel battled to stabilise the man at the scene before rushing him to hospital.

Some of the suspects fled in a brown VW Polo, while the other suspects fled on foot. An eye witness reports that the shooters had disappeared before police arrived.

The condition of the victims remains unknown at this time.
