Absa has issued a warning to clients saying that a storm with large hailstones is expected later today.
A source at the Weather Centre at OR Tambo International Airport said that although they are aware of the possibility of a storm forming later, satellites currently indicate clear skies over Middelburg.
The South African Weather Centre said that a warning for possible storms over the Mpumalanga Highveld, including Middelburg, has been issued last night.
The warning serves only to make residents aware of the possibility of such a storm.
As soon as a storm forms, the SAWC will issue a weather alert which will indicate over which area the storm is forming as well as in which direction it is moving.
