Eskom power cuts whole town
A power outage on Friday and again on Saturday resulted in the total blackout of Middelburg, Mhluzi and the Mall area.
On Friday afternoon the lights tripped shortly after 14:00. Power was restored an hour later, only for the lights to again be switched off. Power was restored at around 19:30 that night.
On Saturday afternoon at about 12:00 electricity again went off throughout the whole of Middelburg and was only restored at about 14:30.

Eskom spokesperson Juanita Vogel confirmed that the two incidents over the weekend were related to an Eskom fault but exact details were not immediately available.
“Our technicians are investigating the faults and we will provide more information as soon as the investigation is complete,” said Ms Vogel.
