It was found by a passer-by, Jason Nkuna, who stated that he was collecting discarded tins in the park for recycling.“I suspected something was wrong because the body was in an unnatural position,” he said.
The man’s trousers were pulled down to his ankles and he was lying face down.
“I called out to him but there was no response, I went closer and realised that he was dead,” said Nkuna.
He alerted neighbours who called the Emergency Services and Police. Upon the arrival of the paramedics it was confirmed that the man was deceased.

A post mortem was conducted earlier this week to determine the cause of death, the results of which was not released at the time of going to press. It is however suspected that the man died of poisoning.
The body is being held at the Middelburg State Mortuary and he is yet to be identified.
