Video: ‘There is a new sheriff in town’
The War Against Crime campaign was kicked off on Thursday with an impressive march, showcasing the men and women in blue together with other roll players such as the Traffic Department, security companies and civilian anti-crime initiatives.
The newly appointed Middelburg Police station commander, brig. M.T. Jiyane, said that the aim of the campaign was “to flood the streets of Middelburg and target problem areas”.
“The main focus is to protect our youth from illegal substances and bring the smugglers to justice,” said brig. Jiyane.
