Municipality shooting – death toll stands at two
It has been established this morning that two municipal workers were fatally shot during yesterday evening's bloodbath at the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.
Last night’s reports by www.mobserver.co.za that the death toll stood at two, however, were refuted by municipal workers at the time, who informed the journalist that only one man was killed.

A reliable source clarified that initial reports that one man was killed at the scene while another later succumbed to his injuries in hospital were wrong.
The man fatally wounded at the scene, was only certified dead on arrival at hospital.
The spokesperson for striking municipal employees, Kgosi Makwati, however confirmed that another employee later succumbed to his injuries.
