Update: Baby girl found inside refuse bin laid to rest

The baby girl found dumped inside a garden refuse bin will soon be laid to rest by St John Presbyterian Church who offered to name and bury the baby.

A name has not been chosen by Reverend Kokkie Smit and his congregation yet.

The autopsy on the girl was finalized last week and her body is now ready to be released to Roseleigh Funeral Services who agreed to handle the logistics.

The infant will be cremated following a memorial service for her led by Reverend Smit.

Reverend Smit met with the detective services on Monday to receive the go ahead for the memorial and cremation from the investigating officer.

The case is still open and under investigation.
