Video: District municipality plagued by tyre thefts
Three men were apprehended by security and staff of the Nkangala District Municipality for a wave of tyre thefts in the municipal parking lot.
The men targeted the bakkie of an independent auditor, from the provincial Auditor General’s office, for the second time in three weeks.
Security officers however kept a close watch on the trio, and pounced when they observed one of the men sliding underneath the auditor’s bakkie.
Staff quickly rallied around the three suspects and prevented them from leaving the premises.
When police arrived, the three men were taken into custody and charged with attempted theft.
