Police investigate alleged abduction, assault against farmer and security guard

The police are investigating an incident of alleged abduction and assault against an Elandslaagte farmer and security guard.

According to a media statement issued by the provincial SAPS, the incident involves two males accused of stock theft on the Elandslaagte farm.

The incident occurred last week Friday, with the arrest being made this week Wednesday.

Subsequent to the arrest, the two suspects appeared at the Middelburg Magistrates’ Court on 29 Thursday.

Their case was postponed to 05 September 2024. The two suspects remain in custody whilst the investigations continue.

At this moment, the whereabouts or possible remains of the two victims is subject of police investigation.

“The SAPS is committed to a thorough probe of this case and a dedicated team is working diligently to uncover all facts surrounding this tragic event,” the statement read.

“The SAPS takes this incident seriously and members of the public are urged to assist with any information to step forward and assist our investigation by calling the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.”
