A Polo Volkswagen and Toyota Fortuner collided on Van Der Merwe Street.
The Polo was allegedly carrying three adults and four children, while the Fortuner was carrying four people.
11 people sustained injuries.
The man who was travelling in the Polo lost his life
It is not clear what caused the accident.
