BREAKING NEWS: One building torched, businesses appealing for backup in Machadodorp
A building has been torched in Machadodorp where violent protests have erupted.
Residents appealed via voice messages for police and fire brigades to be dispatched to the town immediately.
Violent protesters are running rampant throughout the small town.
A fight between a white and black man apparently led to the outbreak of violence. The unidentified white man was admitted to hospital.
When two security guards went to arrest the man’s assailant, the community retaliated.
Anger spilled over into Machadodorp town after the attempted arrests.
