New hospital for Middelburg
The billion rand new Middelburg Hospital has commenced construction.
Heavy vehicles are on the property and clearing the land, making way for what is to be one of the most costly projects undertaken by the Mpumalanga Provincial Government.
The construction phase will take place over the next 12 to 18 months, for opening in 2019.
The project will cost an estimated R1 037 400 000.
The present Middelburg Provincial Hospital was built 78 years ago and it is yet to be decided as to what will happen to the building once the new hospital is opened.
