TRAC continues its support of GTR

Trans African Concessions (TRAC) will once again support the prestigious and popular 2017 Rotary Greatest Train Race (GTR) which is taking place on Saturday, August 19.

One of TRAC’s biggest contributions to this year’s event is the special concession it will offer Class 1 vehicles at the Middelburg Toll Plaza during the closure of the R555 between eMalahleni and Middelburg for the staging of the race.

Qualifying motorists diverted by marshals and traffic officials onto the N4 between 06:00 and 14:00 on race day will be given a unique voucher that grants them a discounted rate of R22.00 (instead of R56.00) at the plaza.

This voucher, which must be handed to the toll collector on passing through the Middelburg Plaza, will only be valid during the road’s closure and is only applicable for motorists paying with cash.

No other forms of payment, including electronic tag payments, will qualify for the discounted tariff.

The GTR is a charity road running event organised by the local Rotary Clubs. The aim of the race is to raise funds for the less fortunate while having fun. Because this competition creates a platform for the public to join forces to create change and bring relief to those in need it fits well within TRAC’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) responsibilities.

According to TRAC’s CSI manager Adri Fourie, contributing towards major community events such as the GTR is important to the company, “As a major service provider in the area, we take our social responsibility towards the communities along the route seriously and this is but one way of serving those people.”

“It is a privilege to be involved and contribute meaningfully to a cause that has such a positive impact on the local community and beyond,” says Fourie.

TRAC’s 24-hour Helpdesk will be available to assist road users with queries and information relating to the N4 Toll Route, and the special concession, throughout the event.

This fully operational call centre assists and responds to all road user queries as well as any emergencies, incidents and accidents that occur on the route.

It can be reached on 0800 87 22 64 or 082 881 4444.
